I have the privilege of being part of the Star Performers and Twinkle Stars dance family.
I feel blessed to have seen all the students grow from little ones to teenagers and now into young adults each with their own unique abilities. Naturally they are all amazing dancers, we also have some great singers, budding artists’, public speakers who love grabbing the microphone and saying a “few” words when the opportunity arises, some who still remember the first dance they were ever taught and who won what annual trophies and when, fashionistas, photographers (mainly selfies), and some who should be stand up comedians.
One thing these young people have in common is their caring of each other . They are intuitive and empathetic towards their friends and others feelings.
Saturday mornings brings eagerness and excitement as they walk into the hall which is infectious. The amazing teaching staff are extremely professional, caring, patient and encouraging and do all in their power to get the best out of these young adults, and they in turn do their best to make their teachers proud.
Hard work, happiness and enjoyment fill the hall during classes. This hard work and dedication from all involved culminates in the best show ever. September is our annual concert time where the students don their gorgeous costumes and perform for their families and friends.
They love performing for everyone and the energy coming from the audience is evident to the students who seem to lift further with boundless enthusiasm. The theatre is always full of laughter along with tears of joy, happiness and pride from the audience and laughter at some of the little extras we get when some of the students personalities come to the fore.
I know my heart bursts with love and pride every Saturday and at the concerts for each and everyone of these beautiful people and I would like to thank you all for allowing me to be part of the dance family and for enriching my life beyond measure.
